Another Sexy Saturday Snippet

Again from my current obsession...I mean, work in progress, Web of Desire. Two secondary characters are featured this week. Hope you enjoy.

"Why me?"

Because I needed an excuse, any excuse to see you again. Damon drew a deep breath. "You're good, Bea. You're thorough and I can trust you to keep this on the down-low." She stopped picking at the towel and placed her hand on his. He was sure she'd take the job but something in her eyes made her answer difficult for Damon to read.

"Damon, about what happened between us…"

"Forget about it Bea, I get it, you had a job to do. We were good together but it was a fling. We both moved on."

"Damon…"

He needed some distance from her before he made a fool of himself. Rising, he walked over to the bar and poured a liberal amount of whiskey into a glass. It was five o'clock somewhere, right? With his back to her, Damon could keep his perspective. He threw back the amber liquid barely noticing the burn as it glided down his throat and glanced over his shoulder.

"Will you do it or not?"
