I had a few WIPs to choose from, none of which are near 77 pages yet so I went with page 7 and started at line 7. This is from an as-yet-untitled book. Untitled because I haven't decided what works best.

 

The transaction complete, he rounded the counter and handed her the bag. The store was nearly empty offering the opening he needed to broach the crazy idea in his head. If only he could find the right words. Violet turned to leave and Devlin saw his opportunity slipping away. He followed her to the door, opened it for her, and stepped into the waning afternoon light. 

She glanced down at the stains on his clothing and frowned. "Are you certain I can't pay for cleaning? I'm not sure those stains will come out."
