I needed something to jump start my writing so I re-read Chapter 1. Never NEVER do that again! It is, in a word, horrible. At one point I had to ask myself what the heck I was thinking when I wrote it. Fortunately it can be salvaged. However, I am going to press on. It is July 31st.
I want to be at the halfway mark of this draft.
*not going to happen* I know it is rough and it should be. That is what the editing process is about right?
I had something else I was going to talk about today but I am off my game at the moment. Totally knocked off my axis. We will return to our regular broadcasting soon.
FYI today is J.K. Rowling's birthday. I would send some chocolate frogs but my owl has not returned.
Am going to sleep for real this time.
Reading old work is a killer! I have a folder of stuff I wrote as a preteen and for some bizarre, masochistic reason I occasionally take a look. And I always end up telling myself "Never again". But hey, if you reread something you wrote and are no longer satisfied, then I guess it means you've improved?

ReplyDeleteIt is better than I thought although it is rough and needs a good polishing but not a total loss. It was written in the moment when I just could not stop writing. The most important thing is pressing on and reaching the finish line. Then I can go back and clean it up.

You know I haven't watched that movie although I rarely get out to a movie...I will have to check it out. I have heard good things about it.
